Meet our 2022 alumni
Rosemary Adejoh-Adaji

Rosemary is one of the 2022 OMLA Fellow that is passionate for a greener hence, a better Africa. She demonstrates uncommon skill and tactics for advocating for young people especially adolescent girls and young women, insisting on addressing the difficult issues that impact their lives: girl child education, reproductive health education; gender-based violence, and civic education. Her goal for 2022 is to improve the livelihood of at least 50 young people especially vulnerable girls from 10 communities in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria through the promotion of girl-child education, vocational skill acquisition opportunities; and elimination of violence against women and girls.

Kennyrodgers Omondi

Kennyrodgers Omondi, from Kenya, is an Automotive engineer by profession. He has undergone paramilitary training with the Kenya National Youth Service. He is working with youths in Kenya on collective responsibility for environmental measures in efforts to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change. They do this by planting trees which are seen as an intervention toward environmental conservation. Currently, Kennyrodgers is running intercounty tree planting in schools having the aim of bringing the forest cover to 10% by 2030. He has the mission of having community tree planting by involving his community with a target of 100 trees per household, in a duration of 5years which will be synchronized with agroforestry for sustainability and development.

NANTABO MARY JUDITH

Nantabo Mary Judith is a 2022 OMLA Fellow from Uganda, she is passionate about seeing all young teenage girls completing their education regardless of being affected by early pregnancy or STIs. She works together with other youths in the region to ensure many girls get self-sustaining skills like tailoring and hairdressing so as to help them get a source of income thus not relying on the opposite sex for finances.
Judith has a target population of teenage girls below the age of 30 and her goal is to reduce the numbers of girls that get pregnant at a young age and those that drop out of school due to the effects of teenage pregnancy in the eastern region of Uganda by offering education talks, life skill talks and also skills these young girls.

Limbi Blessing Tata

Supporting and Amplifying the African youth story – Limbi Tata
Limbi is a 2022 OMLA Fellow, in her organization, Ecological Balance Cameroon which is within the context of her youth empowerment strategy seeks to inspire youth to make and be the change they want. Very importantly, we want to promote positive thinking, bring to lamplight, and amplify the successes (no matter how small) of the average Cameroonian youth. Their goal for 2022 is to significantly reduce the unemployment rate by 2030 (by sustainable businesses).

Alfred Kollie

Meet Alfred from Liberia, one of the OMLA pioneer fellows that is working towards a sustainable change in his community. He Founded Rescue Youth International (RYI), a nonprofit and nongovernmental Charity Organization in Liberia. Since 2019, (RYI) has been involved in Charity donations, the provision of scholarships for vulnerable kids, engaging in capacity building Education, Period poverty awareness, Mental Health education or awareness, Community services, and advocacy in Liberia. They also work with students across Paynesville educating them about teenage prostitution and teenage pregnancy, drugs abuse, and Career Development. In 2022, they will reduce mental illness, teenage pregnancy, and prostitution by 4% and train about 40 visionary and transformational leaders in various Communities.
ELVIS ROASS Junior

Meet Elvis Roass Junior an OMLA fellow (2022) who was until recently the deputy coordinator of the Youth Network for Leadership and Development in Chad (RJDLT in French), an organization where he promoted leadership and sustainable development. He also work as an incubator of the organization where he helps startups from different levels to start, grow or expand their ideas.
Elvis believes that through adapted training and education, it's possible to make the youth more resilient and help them take care of themselves and their communities. He’s dedicated to raising an army of sustainable entrepreneurs in Chad and in Africa.

Timothy Imran Koroma

Timothy Koroma – an OMLA Fellow and a young motivator who inspires the mind set of young people (youths) within his community to get involved in skill acquisition and learning. He believes every youth should be a problem solver proffering solutions to challenges in there various communities.
The goal is to minimize unemployment through Skill acquisition among youth for a sustainable future in a community.
Ajuadem Nixon Atem Forjia
Cameroonian
Ajuadem Nixon Atem Forjia is one of the 2022 OMLA Fellow from Cameroon who catalyzes his unparalleled passion for advocacy for youth inclusion in all spaces of societal and community life by leading the process in the West Region in drawing up a National Action Plan for localizing the African Union Continental Framework on Youth Peace and Security under the auspices of youth-led CSO- Local Youth Corner-Cameroon.
The problems he desires to address in 2022 are principally in the area of proper waste disposal through sensitization, clean-up campaigns, and provision of affordable dustbins in the neighborhood of Bafoussam city. Also, it is his hope that the free school with a designed curriculum will witness an upscale through the skills, training, and opportunities OMLA will provide.
We are looking for valiant leaders like Ajuadem who are passionate about transforming African leadership to join our ever-growing community of world changers.
Here is what Ajuadem has to say about his experience as an OMLA fellow:
"The OMLA Fellowship has been one of the greatest opportunities for learning, networking, and more active community engagement for me. I have always admired the life and story of Nelson Mandela but had never really taken the time to look upon him as a mentor and then have more than 75 (above the required 50) young people directly look up to me as a mentor and coach to whom I pass on the OMLA training and with whom we shall have the journey of a lifetime. These young people are just as eager and enthusiastic about bringing change to their communities, especially through the projects to be executed from June."

Hannington Wako
Ugandan
Hannington is a 2022 OMLA Fellow from Uganda East Africa. He works with the United Religions Initiative Great Lakes URI Great-Lakes (URI-GL) as the Institutional Development Officer. His work with URI-GL focuses on peacebuilding, interfaith cooperation, women and youth empowerment, Environment Conservation, Regional and Global peace advocacy. Hannington has also worked with the Global Young Leaders Program of the URI and is very passionate about leadership skills development, mindset change, Mentorship, sharing opportunities and resources to address social problems for the good of the communities and the world at large. His goal is to increase meaningful youth empowerment and participation in community development processes through mentorship support and skills development in the region by 2030.
In 2020 he envisions to build thriving youth enterprises in the agricultural sector in Uganda to help employ thousands of unemployed youths in the sector but to also generate jobs and a financial return to potential youth investors through the OMLA fellowship.

Bakary J Janneh

Meet Bakary J Janneh, an OMLA fellow from The Gambia who promotes “Eat what you grow and grow what you eat”
He believes in sustainable youth empowerment and Environmental protection to help mitigate climate stress. Bakary Janneh ventured into vegetable production in small scale which is intended to be grown into large scale vegetable garden. With his organization named “Youth against Environmental Degradation” Bakary joined other youths to advocate for Safe environment.

Ernest Chapi Mukete

Meet Ernest from Cameroon, one of the OMLA pioneer fellows that are working towards a sustainable change in their communities. Ernest is passionate about transforming the agricultural system of education in Africa from theory to practical, from chemical to organic. He is the founder of Global Youth Transformative Aid (GYTA) and possesses innovative Agricultural skills in creating self-sustainable jobs in the agricultural sector in Cameroon.
Ernest has a target population which is the youths, women, and girls. His goal for 2022 is to reduce poverty in 5 Sub-divisions in the North West region of Cameroon by creating self-sustainable Agricultural jobs for 50 youths, women, and girls in each of these 5 Sub-divisions.
